That's my dream. I'm Carol Montgomery, the founder of Readers Theater All Year™. I'm a former classroom teacher who homeschooled our four lovely children K-12 for 24+ years with my super husband. I have my masters degree in education and did my master's project on Readers Theater. Now, I write trustworthy Readers Theater scripts to help teachers and parents around the globe.

Readers Theater All Year's Story

As a classroom teacher I was ecstatic to learn about Readers Theater. But, I struggled to find any trustworthy Readers Theater scripts to use with my students. It seemed like the plays were too long, too hard, or inappropriate. So, as a master's project I wrote a collection of Readers Theater scripts. (My professor said I should publish them.)

Years later, as a drama club teacher for about 30 homeschooled students, I STILL couldn't find enough scripts. I wrote more because there was no Script Buffet Club™.

Now, I've created that which I always wished I had as a teacher: a growing buffet of trustworthy Readers Theater scripts based on the needs of real teachers.

In 2010 Readers Theater All Year quietly entered the internet world to serve teachers and help build lifelong skills in students. We started with about 30 Readers Theater scripts. Now, our growing Script Buffet (for paying members) provides hundreds of trustworthy scripts in multiple areas. Think of it as a growing Readers Theater script library.

How Does Readers Theater Help Build Leaders?

Research shows the value of Readers Theater in developing stronger readers: greater fluency, comprehension, and confidence. So, it makes sense that Readers Theater also develops stronger leaders and creators. right?

"Leaders are readers" is a common saying.

• How many leaders (e.g., teachers, business people, elected officials, rabbis, pastors, parents, and more) fearlessly read literature, speeches, or lessons aloud in front of a group?

• How many "leaders" read confidently aloud from a tele-prompter or a screen?
